NCAA basketball: For Gophers’ Taylor Woodson, a Bittersweet 16

Taylor Woodson, a power forward for the Minnesota University of Minnesota's women's basketball team, has been unable to participate in the NCAA tournament's Sweet 16 due to a second knee injury in a as many seasons. Woodson played her freshman season at Michigan before transferring back to Minnesota and playing for Dawn Plitzuweit and the Gophers. She played in only 12 games this season before blowing out her left knee and having season-ending surgery. This season, she hasn't played in any games due to the injury, having surgery on her right knee on Nov. 7. The fourth-seeded Gophers are set to play top seed UCLA in the next round of the tournament in Sacramento, California, on Friday evening. Despite her absence, Woodson remains committed to her teammates and continues to support them through her rehab.
