The Group of Seven (G7) leaders have pledged to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway used to transport a fifth of the world's oil and gas. The statement was made in a joint statement released on March 22. The G7 emphasised the importance of safeguarding maritime routes and navigation, along with the safety and security of supply chains and the stability of energy markets.
