OpenAI has acquired TBPN, a media start-up that hosts a daily talk show about Silicon Valley and finance, to help drive a "constructive conversation" about AI. Fidji Simo, CEO of applications at OpenAI, stated that OpenAI will maintain TBPN's "editorial independence," giving the team the freedom to choose their own guests and make their own editorial decisions. TBPN will sit within OpenAI’s strategy org, reporting to Chris Lehane. The show has been viewed as “Silicon Valley’�s newest obsession” by The New York Times.
