The concept involves converting or merging the existing rail line with a parallel trail, creating a “rail-with-trail” system that includes a separated path for pedestrians and cyclists. The proposed corridor would connect Enfield to East Windsor and potentially extend north into Massachusetts. However, council members raised concerns about long-term costs and logistical challenges along the route.
