All five developers challenged the move in court and secured injunctions allowing work to continue. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum planned to appeal these rulings, but a bipartisan group of senators have been negotiating a long-awaited energy permitting reform bill for months. A federal judge has cleared Sunrise Wind to resume construction, making it the fifth US offshore project to win court protection from a federal shutdown order.
