Commanders take Rutgers QB Athan Kaliakmanis in seventh round

The Washington Redskins have selected Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL draft. The team is likely to compete with current franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels and their veteran backup, Marcus Mariota. Kaliamamis had a 55.8 percent completion rate with 55 touchdowns and 27 interceptions during his college career.
