Meghan McCain, former The View cohost and longtime critic of President Donald Trump, has praised him for extending an "olive branch" in his second term, describing him as "gentle" and "much softer" in her view. This comes after she had to get his permission to attend the confirmation of her friend, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, at the White House. McCain revealed this on her Citizen McCain talk show that she had a private meeting with Trump after she asked to attend a confirmation hearing for her friend's friend, Tulsi Dabbard. Prior to this, McCain had previously criticized Trump for criticizing her father's criticism of her late father, Sen. John McCain.
