The Palestinian Authority (PA) has announced local elections on April 25 for municipalities and village councils, marking the first such elections in nearly five years. However, many Palestinians believe these elections will not significantly change the situation in the West Bank. Hani Odeh, the mayor of Qusra, who has been surrounded by illegal Israeli settlements and outposts, will not be on the ballot. He argues that the resources are limited, the demands are many, there's the settlers, the army, and that the vote won't change the reality. The Palestinian Authority has been in power for 17 years after its initial mandate expired. Despite this, some are hopeful about the change, others believe it will bring something new.
