Volkswagen has opened pre-orders for its new electric SUV, the ID.UNYX 08, starting at just under $35,000 in China. The vehicle is Volkswagen’s first EV co-developed with XPeng and features a fully connected, purely electric full-size SUV with dual 14.96″ navigation and infotainment screens, a 10.25″ driver display, and a built-in refrigerator. Volkswagen plans to launch a new EV every two weeks on average this year, starting with the ID., which is part of its “In China, for China” strategy. The first series of ID., developed by Volkswagen, will be released in the first half of 2026 as the first of 20 new custom-tailored EVs in China this year.
