Retired FBI agent and criminal profiler, Candice DeLong, believes that the execution of Karla Faye Tucker, the convicted murderer who killed two people with a pickax, was sealed long before the murders. DeLong believes that Tucker's confession to having an orgasm while she was killing raises questions about her future. Tucker was executed in 1998 at age 38 after being convicted of her role in the 1983 murders of Jerry Lynn Dean, 27, and Deborah Thornton, 32. The crimes were committed before Tucker converted to Christianity and were later found guilty of capital murder in Texas Penitentiary. Despite her tumultuous upbringing, DeLong acknowledges that childhood trauma is a common factor in violent behavior.
