Jeff Shell has sued his former public relations adviser, R.J. Cipriani, for extortion and defamation, in a cross-complaint filed in California state court. The lawsuit is a countermovement from an earlier lawsuit accusing Paramount Skydance president of reneging on a deal involving a TV show. The allegations stem from an alleged violation of federal securities laws related to the $7.7 billion UFC media rights deal.
