Construction season returns to Colorado Springs roads

National Work Zone Awareness Week coincides with the start of road construction in Colorado Springs, marking the beginning of the season. City staff expects more work zones, lane shifts, and road workers close to moving traffic during late spring and summer. I-25 will be reduced to one lane as part of an ongoing lane improvement project. 8th Street bridge will see traffic shift from one to two, with center lane work continuing. Tejon Street will be closed between Colorado Avenue and Kiowa Street for the Tejon St. dedication to the Tejon Street Revitalization Project. Pikes Peak Avenue will also be closed for crosswalk work until May 8.
