Foreign car companies are gaining ground in technology as they struggle to retain the once-lucrative China auto market. U.S., Korean, and German automakers have announced new models for China at the Beijing auto show. Cadillac announced its first car with driver-assist technology for China, the VISTIQ, which uses advanced driver assist software and automatic parking. Cadillac aims to compete with local rivals with a promise of trust on safety. Hyundai has also launched its all-electric IONIQ brand in China, marking its most ambitious local expansion yet. The company's new IONSIQ V also comes with advanced driver assistance and offers voice-control functions using an AI assistant. However, Hyundai's China sales in March were about a third of what they were in the same month in 2019.
