Bakersfield officials and anti-human trafficking advocates are launching a new public awareness campaign, 'Project Rescue', aimed at bringing awareness and providing public information about suspected human trafficking cases. The campaign comes after 17 arrests were reported last month as part of a statewide anti-trafficking and prostitution operation. Ofelia Flores, a survivor of human trafficking, shared her story to support other victims and motivate them to seek help. The initiative includes 10 GET buses covered in banners with the National Human Trafficking Hotline and emergency help numbers in both English and Spanish.
