The state Health and Human Services Department has found that Camp Mystic in Texas is lacking in its emergency plan for reopening. The department cited 22 components in the camp's emergency flood plan as inadequate or incomplete, including inadequate evacuation route maps and inadequate flood-warning measures. The camp has been given 45 days to submit a new emergency plan to resolve these issues. Additionally, the department noted that most of the 174 youth camps statewide have received similar notices due to stricter emergency safety regulations.
