Health officials in southeast Michigan are working to contain a confirmed measles outbreak in Washtenaw County, which has been linked to multiple public exposure sites. Three cases have been identified, all of which are unvaccinated individuals aged between 5 and 17. Public health officials have warned that declining vaccination rates are increasing the risk of outbreaks. The symptoms of the highly contagious virus can include high fever, cough, runny nose, and a distinctive rash.
