The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is on track for the biggest opening weekend of the year, but it might not 1-UP the 2023 original

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the sequel to the original movie, is predicted to open at an estimated $160 million domestically in the US, although it may not beat the $146.3 million opening weekend of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The film stars Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Jack Black, and Anya Taylor-Joy's Princess Peach among others. However, it could be dwarfed by the first movie's five-day gross total of $200 million. The movie is set to be released on April 1 and is expected to contain numerous Easter eggs.
