The wildfires in Georgia and Florida have destroyed thousands of acres and forced hundreds of people to evacuate their homes due to the worst spring drought conditions on record. Brytney Quinn's home in southeast Georgia was destroyed within 30 minutes of her time due to a wildfire that was believed to have been sparked by a children's party balloon landing on a power line. The Highway 82 Fire and Pineland Road Fire have together destroyed more than 120 homes, according to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp. The losses have been devastating for Quinn, who lost her home and three pets in the blaze. Meanwhile, across the state line, a volunteer firefighter died while fighting the Old Dixie Highway Fire in Hilliard, Florida.
