Sometimes the best visits require no plans at all

My son Russell and grandson Harrison, 11, offered to bring Harrison for a three-day spring break visit from his grandparents, Russ, and Cynthia, who were not planning a family vacation at this time. Despite a recent illness, Russell and Harrison decided not to make any plans for the visit, but to decide when they arrived. Prior to the scheduled visit, a blizzard hit northeast Wisconsin, and I contracted a nasty virus that left me feeling unwell, but I wanted to see family again. The two men were able to complete a jigsaw puzzle and a metal clothes rack together, which they found easier and faster than anticipated. Despite the inconvenience, the trip was memorable, with little activity planned and no plans for a vacation or special occasion.
