Crazed passenger on American Airlines flight from JFK forces emergency landing: ‘I’m going to blow up the plane’

An American Airlines flight from New York to Chicago had to make an emergency landing due to a disruptive passenger who threatened to "blow up the plane". The flight had departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport and was an hour away from landing at Chicago O'Hare when the passenger became agitated and disruptive. The pilots decided to divert to Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus, Michigan, where medical personnel and law enforcement removed the disruptive passenger from the flight. The FBI also conducted a thorough search of the aircraft, concluding that there was no threat to the public. The plane eventually landed in Chicago at 7 p.m.
