Mobile Game Developer Scopely has achieved a significant milestone in its 15-year run, reaching $15 billion in lifetime revenue, 15 years after it was founded. The company, known for its titles such as Monopoly Go, Pokemon Go, Star Trek Fleet Academy and Marvel Strike Force, has been instrumental in building engaging experiences that matter to people over long periods of time. Despite the intense competition and radical change in the industry, Scopely's co-CEO, Javier Ferreira, sees this as confirmation that the company has been able to build experiences for people who value the experiences they create over time. The firm's success lies in part in aggressive M&A deals, acquired several video game studios, FoxNext, GSN Games, and Niantic, the studio behind Pokémon Go, and recently acquired a majority stake in the Turkish mobile game company Loom.
