A lawsuit has been filed by the Osorio family accusing Spirit Airlines of negligence, alleging that Marcos Humberto Vindel Osorio, a 75-year-old man with dementia, went missing after arriving from Honduras and wandered onto a busy highway in 2024. He was found dead on the side of a freeway after being hit by multiple vehicles. The lawsuit alleges that Spirit Airlines was aware of Marcos' dementia and assured that assistance would be provided, but failed to provide any assistance. The Osario family are seeking damages for mental anguish, loss of companionship, and expenses.
