A survey conducted by the Hotel Association of Los Angeles revealed that 6% of jobs were lost after a minimum wage ordinance went into effect for tourism workers in the city in 2025. The survey, conducted by a project of the association's Hotel Education and Research Organization, found that hotels lost 6% jobs after the law went into place. Of the 92 respondents, about 76 reported employment impacts. Jackie Filla, president and CEO of the Los Angeles Hotel Association, called for the repeal or amend the wage ordinance and for initiatives to promote tourism to Los Angeles. The report also found that 62% of surveyed hotels plan to reduce staff hours in 2026. It also revealed that parking operators expect to raise prices at least 10% to meet the requirements of the wage law.
