Chicago Bears leaders are seeking a quick resolution to their search for a new stadium, with the goal of opening a new enclosed stadium by 2030. Team President and CEO Kevin Warren outlined a rough timeline for the project, with hopes to choose a site by spring or summer. The team is also waiting for Illinois lawmakers to approve a proposal that would allow the Bears to negotiate long-term property tax breaks for a site in Arlington Heights. Despite environmental concerns raised by local residents, Warren said the team has already found no needed remediation or cleanup at a site near Wolf Lake. Regardless of the stadium location, the team, valued at about $9 billion, would have to borrow at least $2 billion for an enclosed stadium.
