State representative Della Au Belatti has criticized the campaign of fellow first congressional district candidate, state senator Jarrett Keohokalole, for not rejecting special interest money. Political action committees (PACs) represent organized interests but are crucial for campaigns against well-funded incumbents like U.S. Rep. Ed Case, who reported about $433,000 from PACs so far, including ones tied to corporations across the defense sector and other industries. Belatti claims that her campaign and Keohohokale's committee are actually accepting PAC money. Keohokealole responded by saying he rejected big tech and defense donations and supports keeping dark money out of politics.
