Aamir Allen, a domestic abuser, was shot dead by a Woodbridge police officer in 2025 and aggravated manslaughter charges brought against the officer, Sgt. Marco G. Bruno, who could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted. Court records reveal that Allen had a history of domestic violence and had been living with the woman for several months despite a final restraining order. He was released from prison six months after his release from prison following another violent encounter with a woman. The Attorney General’s Office announced a rare indictment of a cop in an on-duty slaying, stating that a grand jury concluded it wasn’t justified. Bruno is currently under house arrest and suspended without pay from his job.
