The hometown screening of "Michael" in Gary, Indiana, marked a full-circle moment as the Jackson family returned to their roots. Jafaar Jackson, son of Jermaine Jackson, took on his first acting role to play his uncle, Michael Jackson, in the biopic. The black carpet was chosen as a centerpiece to celebrate Black artists. The film is set for major release on April 24. The event was held at West Side Leadership Academy and hosted by Gary Mayor Eddie Melton and the Gary International Black Film Festival. Producer Graham King said he prepared for the film's creation by pushing for it for years and felt that Michael's life story deserved more attention.
