118 Panera Employees Laid Off At Howard County Facility

Panera Bread is set to close its Howard County bakery location in Jessup, Maryland, and will lay off 118 employees. The company plans to switch to a par-baked model in 2024, which means the bread will be partially baked and fully finished at the restaurant instead of using fresh dough. The closure of the Jessup location will occur between May 20 and 22.
