Jovan Lamar Duverne, a suspected serial arsonist, has been charged with two murders in connection with a Hollywood house fire that killed two elderly sisters. Duvere, who allegedly set fires at 10 locations across Hollywood between Jan. 26 and Feb. 2026, is also accused of 11 counts of felony arson. The Los Angeles County district attorney's office described this as reckless and dangerous behavior, and accused him of a "shocking disregard for human life". If convicted, Duveree could face up to death or life in state prison without parole. The case remains under investigation by the DA's office's Arson and Explosives Section and the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division.
