Brandon Gerner, a 42-year-old man convicted of murdering Ashley N. Williams and Robert L. Riley in 2023, was found guilty on two counts of murder. Gerner is scheduled to be sentenced in April. According to charging documents, Gerner and another man, Olsen, confronted Riley on their property and Gerner then instructed Olsen to shoot Riley. Prosecutors allege that this was part of a drug deal gone bad and that Gerner stabbed Williams several times. The bodies were found in a wooded area the following day. Gerners allegedly hid them in a bush and later killed a horse in honor of Olsen. Joshua Jones was charged with aiding in the move of the bodies of Riley and Williams.
