The Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska, has issued a cease-and-desist letter to the Mobile Voting Project (MOA), alleging that the company has misrepresented the city's mobile voting system. The letter accuses the company of making false and misleading statements about Anchorage's voting technology, which could undermine voter confidence in the integrity of our elections. The municipality uses OmniBallot, a software portal through Democracy Live, which has been used in 36 states and in over 7,000 elections. An article by The New York Times suggested that Anchorage's use of mobile voting was an experiment with internet voting in local elections, but the municipality has since refuted this.
