She argues that the shift away from climate risk and net-zero concerns is crucial as today's ruling party is obsessed with eradicating environmental institutions like the Environmental Protection Agency and climate policies. Lubber also urges the climate movement to shift its focus to economic issues that connect with politicians and their voter base, such as good jobs, affordable energy and economic competitiveness. She suggests that the focus on these issues is already bearing fruit in Massachusetts, where lawmakers recently passed legislation aimed at enhancing the state’s electricity grid with solar.
