Push Builds To Reverse Biden-Era Abortion Pill Rule

Most Americans, including Democrats and independents, are pushing for a change in a federal policy allowing abortion pills to be mailed across the US without a doctor's visit. Over two-thirds of Americans surveyed said they would support the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reinstating an in-person doctor visit requirement for accessing an abortion pill via the mail. This includes 72% of Republicans, 68% of independents, and 63% of Democrats. About 27% of Americans opposed reinstation of the in-patient requirement. Pro-life leaders have blamed the increasing abortion rates across the country on mail-order abortions. The FDA has stated that reinposing the requirement would interfere with ongoing safety study.
