DOJ shoots back at Apple’s bid to obtain Samsung documents in antitrust case

The U.S. Department of Justice has responded to Apple's request for documents from Samsung in South Korea as part of its defense against the DOJ in the ongoing antitrust case over alleged monopoly practices. The request was made after Samsung’s US.S., subsidiary, refused to produce records that Apple claims would clarify competitive smartphone and smartwatch markets and whether Apple’�s policies have led to anticompetitive effects. The DOJ argues that Apple took too long to make the request and warns against prolonging the discovery period. If the court grants the request, Samsung could raise objections under Korean law.
