Former LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was drafted by the Chiefs in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft. His fiancée, Ella Springfield, expressed relief after the news, with photos of the couple sharing their emotional moments. The son of Saints' OC Doug Nusseme, who was drafted in 1994, was selected in the last round after being projected to be a Day 2 pick. The Saints granted Doug permission to spend the draft with his son.
