UNM lost to San Diego State in the Mountain West Tournament semifinal game, with a thrilling 64-62 victory over the No. 3 Lobos. The loss ends UNM's hopes of playing in the NCAA Tournament, but the team plans to play in the NIT. This was the eighth time the two teams have met in the MW Tournament, with the winner of the previous tournament going on to win seven times. The Aztecs will play top-seeded Utah State in Saturday's championship game. UNM led by Deyton Albury with 20 points and 11 from Uriah Tenette, while SDSU's B.J. Davis had a driving bucket with 2.1 seconds left to put them up 64-63. The team's last gasp of victory came from a Jake Hall 3-pointer at the buzzer, which came at the end of the game.
