The S&P Global Canada Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 51.0 from 50.4 in February, marking its highest level since January 2025. Despite weak export sales and rising inflation pressures, the sector saw a resurgence in new business. The new orders index rose to 50.6 from 49.3 in January, marking the first month of growth since January last year. The employment index also rose, driven by improved order books and long-term expansion plans. The input price index also increased to 59.1 from 59.0 in January.
