Ryan Nembhard, an undrafted rookie who recently had his two-way contract converted to a standard deal with the Dallas Mavericks, has secured long-term security with the team. Despite not being invited to the NBA draft combine in Chicago, he performed well in G League Showcase and conducted predraft workouts for around 20 teams, including Dallas. The Mavericks had only one draft pick in 2025 and Nembhardt said they tried to acquire an additional pick to select him, but were unable to before the end of the draft. His consistency, effort and the opportunity they presented made him a desirable option for him. Despite being an undrafted player, Nembhart has already reached heights few rookies before him have achieved. He is the first rookie to score 25 points and dish out 10 assists in the modern draft era since 1996.
