A court in Gunma has acquitted former Olympic torch bearer Takayuki Ueno, who was accused of raping a female acquaintance two years ago. The 53-year-old head of a volunteer reconstruction group in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture, was found innocent of non-consensual sexual intercourse. The prosecution had requested a six-year prison sentence. The defense had argued that the woman had consented. After the verdict, Ueno filed a complaint against the woman on suspicion of making a false accusation.
