City and community leaders are considering renaming a road in Kansas City's Westside neighborhood named after civil rights and labor activist César Chávez. The decision comes amid sexual abuse allegations that have led leaders to reconsider celebrations and names. However, changing a street name in the city has historically been difficult. The process involves an impact report, public hearings, and a final vote at the City Council. 4th District Councilmember Crispin Rea has heard many ideas for other names and plans to work within the city's street naming process.
