UConn's last-minute 3-pointer to shock Duke, a shot by Braylon Mullins, secured a place in the history of basketball in a regional final where the team had trailed by as many as 19 and 15 at half. The shot, which Mullins shot with a 35-foot swish, was the final play of the game in which the Huskies had been trailing by 19 points and 15. It was also a moment of madness for a team that went 5 for 23 from the arc and from a player who otherwise was 0 for 4 from long distance. The game's final score was so improbable that even the people who witnessed it were unsure what they had just seen. Assistant coach Mike Nardi, former Villanova player Jay Wright, and wife of head coach Dan Hurley, both of whom the shot was described as "God answered" by the team. The win moves UConn to its third Final Four in four years and the team will face Illinois in Indianapolis.
