The United States has approved the transfer of its remaining 50.5% interest in the Tanbreez deposit to Critical Metals, bringing the company's total ownership to 92.5%. The TanBreez rare-earth deposit is one of the world's largest known rare-earths projects and was considered a potential acquisition by the Trump administration last year. The announcement of the transfer led to a 22% increase in Critical Met's shares and a renewed focus on Greenland's potential as a strategically important yet untapped resource. The U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has urged the World Bank to act quickly to support projects developing critical minerals, citing the importance of this move.
