Punch the monkey at Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan, known for his comfort in a plush toy after his mother abandoned him, has been spotted canoodling with another monkey named Momo-chan. The new relationship appears to indicate that Punch, who was previously ostracized by his peers, has begun to integrate with the other monkeys and has started to grow out of clinging to his stuffed orangutan. The zoo defended Punch's behavior, stating that while it represented a "strict hierarchical society" where dominant individuals act aggressively towards their subordinates, no one has shown serious aggression towards him. After going viral, IKEA Japan donated new plush toys and plush toys to the zoo.
