Oklahoma AG Drummond sues neuropathy clinic, alleges multi-year Medicaid fraud scheme

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond has filed a lawsuit accusing the Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma and its owner, James Warren Linn Jr., of running a multi-year Medicaid fraud scheme that resulted in nearly $1 million in improper reimbursements. The lawsuit alleges that Linn invested in Sanexas devices, which are not covered by Medicaid, and the defendants began re-coding the treatments under "physical therapy" in order to receive Medicaid payments. It also alleges that the clinic used a drug called Carnitor that is reimbursed by Medicaid and administered small doses but billed Medicaid as if full doses were given. The defendants allegedly collaborated with Michael Evans, founder of National Billing Institute, to use false coding and misrepresent dose amounts.
