Kansas City police investigate fatal motorcycle crash near Coal Mine Road and Winchester

A motorcyclist has died after crashing on a curve in Kansas City, according to police. The accident occurred near the intersection of East Coal Mine Road and Winchester Avenue. The Harley-Davidson Sportster was traveling east when the rider failed to navigate a curve, striking several trees and continuing through a wooded area. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and later died at the hospital. This is the city's 15th traffic fatality of 2026.
