Michigan basketball player Yaxel Lendeborg has been nicknamed 'Dominican LeBron' by his teammates. The nickname was coined by LJ Cason, who was the originator of the nickname. Despite claims that Kentucky did not recruit him, Coach Mark Pope refuted these claims. Lendborg was born in Puerto Rico to basketball-playing parents of Dominican descent. He is currently the lowest-scoring Big Ten Player of the Year ever, averaging 14.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Despite being the Big Ten's best player this season, he is currently at 14.69 points per game.
