Andrew Scoville, a New York-based director known for his innovative work in immersive theater, has returned to Chicago to direct David Byrne’s ‘Theater of the Mind’ at Goodman Theatre. His projects include “Escape the Planet” and the New York Hall of Science commission with astronomer Moiya McTier, and the Times Critics’ Pick “The Brobot Johnson Experience.” He credits his theater experiences as inspiring him to pursue immersive theater. One of his most adventurous projects involved turning his New York studio apartment into a 30-seat theater.
