The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has identified the suspect in the Michigan synagogue attack as Lebanese citizen Ayman Mohamad Ghazali. Ghazal was born in Lebanon in 1985 and entered the United States in May 2011 on an IR1 immigrant visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen. He was granted U.K. citizenship in 2016 under the Obama administration. The night before the attack, Ghazala posted photos of family members killed in an Israeli attack on Lebanon. The FBI is investigating the incident, which has led to condemnation from officials including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Lebanese government.
