Stephen Colbert, the late-night host of "The Late Show" and "The Colbert Report," has revealed that he made the show more political after his transition from "The Comedy Central" transition. His producer, Paul Dinello, encouraged him to focus on political humor during the 2016 national party conventions. Colbert will soon air his final episode of "the Late Show," which will be broadcast by CBS in 2025. The network announced that it would end the program as a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. Some have speculated that this move was done to curry favor with President Donald Trump, who could've stopped a merger between CBS' parent company, Paramount, and Skydance.
