A massive water main break in Jamaica Plain, Boston, has caused a significant disruption to streets and buildings. The pipe that burst is three feet wide and feeds from multiple spots, causing it to take several hours to shut off. Many businesses have received significant amounts of water, with several inches flooding offices. The Boston Fire District Chief, Joseph Walsh, managed to evacuate all occupants of nearby daycages safely. The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America's nearby office was closed but reopened on Wednesday. The Water & Sewer Commission's spokesperson, Stephen Mulloney, said this type of break is rare but it happens a couple times a year.
